While that may possibly be true, we saw 911 change our daily lives, but we soon got most of our normalcy back. Yes, airport security changed, citizen spying became an issue, but we united as a country, much like in WWII. The pandemic has drastically changed our daily lives. The difference is the unity is not there, and without unity, we will remain divided, which in turn, will open the door to those wishing to destroy us. History has proven that many times.
Hi everyone
I brought this topic back up, and reviewed the scare I had from dodging the bullet several times. We are in no better shape, than when I posted this in 2020. And so, it is said, we will all eventually get it, in some form or another.
So todayā¦I receive this:
My symptoms are akin to the flu. I did cancel all gigs and rehearsals as of 3 days ago. Funny thing, I really didnāt know what to do once I got the results. Called my doctor, and they are setting me up for Monoclonal Antibody Infusion. Stay safe my friends, and donāt take symptoms for granted.
Corky
Stay Safe and hydrated Corky, I know 2 others here who have had breakthrough infections, looks like a Holiday of calculated isolating.
All the Best!!
Dave
Hope you get better soon, Corky.
Just had my third booster jab, but cursing at what the devolved administration is doing here in Wales, which is barking mad. It is now illegal for me to go into work without a reasonable excuse, but I can go to a pub filled with strangers (but rule of six now applies again) - all for a variant that is virulent but not as pathogenic as they are making it out to be. Problem in the UK is lack of surge capacity in our NHS and a complete failure to plan for it, but that has always been so.
Anyway, hope you are OK.
I will be fineā¦thanks. Last year, I did some research on the plague in London. There are daily records of deaths and such. The one thing they discovered after, was locking people down increased the deaths by thousands. Funny how NO ONE in government cares about past history, and what they can learn from it. Instead, ālet no crisis go to wasteā is their power chant. They love herding sheep.
And scarily, the sheep seem to like being herded, although there are more signs of dissent now and less appetite for lockdown. Whilst I do not deny covid or anything like that, I think we as well protected as we will ever be now, and need to look at the cost balance better of our approach. I can guarantee that in five years time we will look back on this with horror at the amount of non-COVID deaths that lockdown caused.
This new Omicrom variant is not as bad as the doom-porn mongers were making out, and we have also had the head of SAGE (the scientific advisory committee) fess up in an extraordinary (but under-reported) exchange with a report where he as much as admitted that they are only modelling the scenarios (note not even predictions) that the Government asks them to. Surprise surprise, they are always at the doom laden end of the scale to ānudgeā the public into doing what they want.
@Corky - you are not permitted to have Covid. Go get the flu instead.
Meanwhileā¦ Get well soon!
Terry
I musta forgot I didnāt have permission. Lol
Hi Corky,
I am very sorry to hear that. I keep all fingers crossed that you get this over with as soon as possible and above all without any after-effects, so that you can get back to your music (because thatās what youāre made for).
Best regards, Volker
Me too! Thanks Humphrey.
So sorry to see that, get well soon! The monoclonal antibodies should work well even against omicron from everything Iāve seen. I also read several things about strong correlations between outcomes and vitamin D levels, so probably not a bad idea to take your vitamins and eat your vegetables.
Auch, so sorry to hear. Best wishes, hope you will get well soon and get through with just the flu symptoms.
hi Corky
Iām so sorry. Here the monoclonals work very well and after a few days everything is resolved.
I am close to you, you are not alone, you have a world of friends who are cheering for you.
See you soon my friend.
Sergio
Heal quickly! My wife and I went through Covid in October. It was not fun, but was like a bad flu, I agree with others. I got the monoclonal antibodies the fourth day and my fever and major symptoms broke on the fifth day. My wife still has some taste/smell issues, but I seem to be symptom free.
Sorry to see that Corky. Sure hope your symptoms stays mild.
I had to change all our plans for Christmas a couple of hours ago due to covid. We were going to have a well deserved family Christmas get-together tomorrow, and I just found out we have been contact traced to another person that was infected with covid. So now we are cancelling all Christmas dinner plans, and going into isolation for the next 10 days. I personally do not have any symptoms yet but this Omicron is like wild fire in Ontario.
Bah Humbug!
I truly understand Dave. I am in quarantine for 14 days, and am missing out on some family things. The symptoms are not too bad, but enough at times to send me back to bed. I cannot taste anythingā¦just textures. Hope you and yours donāt catch it.
Corky
Weāre 'ronaād up here in North West London too, but still trying to enjoy Christmas!
Happy holidays to all, regardless of location (or test resultsā¦)

I hear you. I remember some pizza that tasted great the day before and the next day it had zero taste at all. I asked my daughter who also had a slice the next day and she said it was greatā¦ It resolved in my case, hoping the same for you!
