Just some quick recommendations:
- due to the loading times of sets in Superior Drummer, it isn’t advisable to try to switch drum sets within the same instance of Superior drummer in Cantabile
- a good way to do this would be to create separate racks for your different drum kits and then use these racks in your song files
- adding all your songs to a set list and then setting this setlist to “pre-load” will load all your drum kit racks in advance, so switching will be very fast. Of course, you’ll need enough RAM to keep all drum sets loaded…
- if you need two different drum sets in a song (e.g. Englishman In New York), you can simply add both racks to that song and use separate routes from your input - activate the first during the “normal” song, activate the second via song state switch for the rock drum break
- re drum mapping: I’d recommend keeping everything within Cantabile instead of fiddling with Bome. Simply use a MIDI mapping plugin like the PizMidi MidiNoteMap (fixed by @brad) - link here. and map your keys
- If you need special sounds, one-shot-samples etc, you can split your MIDI input in Cantabile with the route properties and then send these specific pads to a different VST instrument (I use sforzando for my one-shot samples).
- you can do this specifically for a single song, without the need to edit your drum kits, e.g. map the rack toms to congas for a song (or even just for the percussion intro).
Tons of fun to be had in Cantabile Performer with eDrums…
Cheers,
