Struggling to find the info on interface Aliases in the user guides. Does anyone know where this info is?

Aliases and Names when Changing MIDI IO Hardware

I plan to upgrade from a MidiSport 2x2 to a Teensy MIDI/USB Midi I/O and want to be sure I do not destroy songs and bindings when I do this. This seems like it could be a disaster if not performed correctly since files are changed. I cannot find “alias” in the User Guide, but this forum has always had answer(s) already posted OR someone with more knowledge will answer.

Thanks. Seen this but I still don’t k ow wheer I input the Alias name

Upper menu tabs:
Tools > Options > MIDI Ports
Highlight the port then left click the edit button
Aliases is the second entry point
