Can this be real?

Can it be legal? Facebook is showing me ads for this .co.uk music shop with extremely low prices. This must be a scam. What do you think?

Huh. Seems to be- apparently it’s a big brick and mortar store in Italy that must be moving into having a web presence. No real reviews as of yet. If it’s used and liquidated gear, could be legit… I think I’d wait for it to establish a rep before I messed with it.

If it looks too good to be true…

The scammers can’t even get their own (claim they’re in London) currency symbol right!

Fishy. USD$ but in other places p. It is not a native English speaker, neither British or American. Punctuation errors, etc. Claims long history and presence in England. No PayPal. Nope.

TBH, I’m with @The_Elf - if it looks too good to be true…

a Les Paul Studio that retailed in 2017 at around 1250 EUR is advertised at a ā€œregularā€ price of $199 and a sale price of $101 ? Not even used or liquidated gear would sell that low, so I suspect this is a scam…

Cheers,

Torsten

You’re right, this must be a scam. I always knew the prices were too good to be true

Woah, what? I didn’t see that lol Yeah, that fell off a truck

A drummer I perform with bought a Les Paul Chinese knock-off with a heavy case for $199. Had the Gibson label on the guitar and case. It really played well, the wood looked great, but the pickups sounded horrible. He said they could duplicate any guitar for the same price.

Just had a small google journey for ā€žmusicartestoreā€œ and surprisingly found a bigger store obviously placed in italy with the same name:

https://www.musicartestore.com/en/index.php

The company logo looked sort of familiar  and the whole left the impression to be more reliable than the ā€žbritishā€œ spin off.

Furthermore I couldnā€˜t find similar offers, prices I found seem to be in the normal range as far as I could see.

All in all the link posted could probably be a cheap copy of the italian website…

That’s what I was looking at.

@FredProgGH
Yep, obviously missed your post… sorry

I came across the British site because they advertise on Facebook, so I denounced the ad indicating it was fraudulent. I hate the idea of people spending money on an instrument they will never get…
