Bug Report (Build 4401) - Linked Rack States stuck when switching between songs

Quite keen to test this build but hitting an issue… Not sure how you like to see Bug Reports here @brad (or knowledgeable Cantabile folks) but…

  • Issue: Shared/Linked Rack States get stuck when switching between songs with Pre-load Setlist enabled.
  • Reproduction Steps:
  1. Create Linked Rack with two Rack States e.g. Rack State 1 and Rack State 2
  2. Create Song 1 using Linked Rack set to Rack State 1.and save song
  3. Create Song 2 using Linked Rack set to Rack State 2. and save song
  4. Enable Pre-load Setlist.and save Setlist
  5. Step from Song 1 → Song 2 → back to Song 1.
  • Observed Result: (After closing and reopening Cantabile 4401 and reloading Setlist) Song 1 (loads Rack State 1 as expected), step onto Song 2 (loads Rack State 2 as expected). On stepping back to Song 1, the rack remains stuck on Rack State 2.
  • Expected Result: The rack should switch back to Rack State 1 when Song 1 is loaded.
  • Workaround: Disabling Pre-load Setlist resolves the issue, possibly meaning it is related to the state invalidation sequence on Linked/Shared Racks?

Hi @Hunter_Barr .

Thanks for the detailed report - I’ll get it fixed.

Wonderful!!! All working as expected… Thanks for such a quick turnaround.

I do have an additional minor observation (I can create a new post if it’s more helpful for you)…
edit Added new post here to keep things tidy

Its just the new Global-Post Rack tab doesn’t persist as a visible tab when opened when switching songs. The Global-Pre Rack tab stays open (as per the previous Background Rack) when switching songs so assume as this is a new tab this just hasn’t been activated in this way yet.

Thanks again Brad. Liking the new Global Pre/Post Rack as this saves me an audio cycle using Global-Post Rack as a “Master Rack” instead of loopback ports. Amazing!

Fixed in 4403, available now.
