Wet/dry and balance settings on racks

Hi @Brad,

A question, like many Cantabile users I have migrated to using racks for most everything, even if I only have 1 plugin. Is there a technical reason why you cannot have wet/dry, balance, etc. at the rack level?

Hi @john,

The issue here is in order to implement wet/dry mixing Cantabile would need to know how input ports and channels map to output ports and channels.

For example, suppose you have two stereo audio input ports and one stereo output port what’s the mapping between inputs and output?

There’s two possible solutions for this:

  1. Provide a way for the user to define the mapping (similarly to how it’s done with plugins).
  2. Provide a wet/dry setting on the rack and leave it to the user to configure the rack to use that setting as required.
