something I’ve come across quite frequently when working with LiveMode:
I’ve configured my LiveModeScreen to simply show ShowNotes and nothing else; in “normal” mode, I usually show the routing screen.
when I switch songs in a pre-loaded set list (via program change --> binding in global rack) in Live Mode, some songs suddenly open in the Routing page (which is somewhat annoying during a live set). Same happens the other way round: when in “normal mode”, switching to a different song sometimes displays ShowNotes instead of the routing view.
Is this something that has to do with a part of the view configuration being saved within the song file?
My preferred option would be to keep the view absolutely stable and tied to the view mode; with no interference from the song file. So, once I’ve set the “normal view” to show routing (or triggers or bindings), the next song should open in this view as well. Same for LiveMode: when I have set this to display ShowNotes, all songs should open with ShowNotes and nothing else. Or can I have a setting in preferences like “open song in which view” - separate for Live and normal view?
Currently, this gives me a bit of trouble for live use - worries me a bit when suddenly instead of my nice ShowNotes, I see the routing page during a gig…
I’ve had a look at this and figured out at least one way this can happen - can you check this is happening on songs with a Primary View rack. I think it’s loading the song, trying to activate the primary view rack and since racks don’t have a show notes panel the show notes disappear.
I have the same issue as Torsten and it’s repeatable. In version 3154
I have discovered after some investigation that this is related to older set lists. I had made a large 40 + song list a while back and it has the unpredictable live view thing but a new set list made with 9 Songs from same song pool does not exhibit these problems. It works as expected. I will attempt to remake my larger setlist from scratch and see if it does something different.
I rebuilt my set list from scratch using all the same songs from the trouble set list. It works without problem. It uses the same songs as the set list that doesn’t behave, The original troubled set list file was created about 3 months ago in late November.
I hope this helps…
Hey Dave, that doesn’t make much sense to me since the set list really is just a list of song files. Are both set to the same pre-load mode? Are you sure this isn’t related to early interactions with the song before switching away and back to it?

Are both set to the same pre-load mode?
[/quote]I looked and you were right the older one was set to preload and the newer ones were set to not. When I set it not preload it worked fine ( the live view showed the notes, the normal view showed the routing on all songs and you could switch between the two modes with predictable results throughout the set list). When it is set to preload it acts very differently if you switch between the 2 modes (live and normal) and is not consistent like the non preloaded set list. Why would it work differently when preloaded? Did I forget something easy? Thanks
Doesn’t do this every time; took me about three turns of switching back and forth between Live and normal mode, but then Notes View appeared again in edit mode…
Hmm, did some more testing, and what I found is that this behavior applies exactly for those songs that had already been displayed in Live Mode.
So, to consistently reproduce it, here’s what I did:
load the set list
switch to Live Mode
select a number of songs via program change
change back to normal mode --> routing view
select the songs I had previously selected in Live Mode --> all of them display notes view, all others routing view.
So it seems that preloaded setlists keep the last used tab (Routing vs. Show Notes) somewhere in memory and recall them when re-opening the song. Guess this may help fixing the beast…
Cheers,
Torsten
P.S.: I also have a consistent case of a rack within a song being changed by loading a next song within a preloaded set list - I’ll open a new topic for this.
