I updated all my Vienna Symphonic Library products and it’s brilliant ! Wow ! What a good point to avoid the need of the Vienna Key, thanks to I-lok world ! Basically, VSL are the best libraries I’ve ever tested, powerful tools for orchestral productions. I own the VIENNA CHAMBER STRINGS which works with the VIENNA INSTRUMENTS PRO Sampler. But they decided to produce FREE INSTRUMENTS which are awesome ! Since they are currently developping new libraries under a new sampler called SYNCHRON PLAYER, they offer some parts of their amazing libraries. I was blown away by the sonic abilities of BIG BANG ORCHESTRA & CELESTIAL STRINGS. If you are looking for orchestral pads, go for it ! You’ll just have to create an I-lok account to authorize your free products.
BUT, for some reasons, I’m not able to play it LIVE because VIENNA INSTRUMENTS & SYNCHRON PLAYER are not seen in Cantabile Performer (Version 3.0 Build 3694). No problem with CUBASE…
I scanned and rescanned my PC to solve the problem but without any success…
Would you know, dear people, if CANTABILE is able to recognize these VSL plugins ?
Build 3694? The last build for version 3 was 3702. Also, maybe try it with version 4 and see what happens. Also, are these vst3 plugs? If they are, you have to make sure Cantabile is scanning the vst3 plug folder which is different location usually than vst2.
I own some Synchron Pianos and the free instruments. Did not experienced problems on Cantabile 3702/4050. both the VST2 and VST3 are recognized (synchron player / synchron piano plugins)
Please check that your Vienna Assistant put the VST2 in the correct folder.
In my system the VST2 are not on the default position, as you can see below.
Another thing: by default the iLok license is dumped to a cloud server, after the e-licenser migration. Since I use a dongle, I need to manually move the licenses to my key (dongle) by the way of the iLok Manager. The result is that I don’t see the free software (and their expensive fantastic pianos as well), if i forgot to move the licenses.

@cpaolo : many many thanks for your screen capture from the New Vienna Assistant. It was the gold key and I haven t visite this page yet. I was able to see clearly that Vsl. dll files were in an unexpected file by default. No need to move THEM. I only pointed the right folder (c / program files / common files / steinberg) in C3. A little scan for plugins research and here there are, fully customable to move the Velocity Xfade from Synchron player with my fcb 1010 expression pedal. Perfect !
