UVI Workstation crashing Cantabile

I just installed the latest version of UVI workstation. When I try and close Cantabile, it just hangs and I have to go to task manager to close it. Anyone else experience this? @brad ?

Specs:

Cantabile 4328
UVI Workstation version 4.0.3 vst2
Windows 11

Thanks - Paul

P.S. - I was using version 4.0.1 before and it worked fine

Not sure offhand. I’ll put this on the list to investigate this week.

I see the same with 4.0.3 VST2, but doesn’t happen with VST3 version.

The UVI Workstation VST2 plugin hangs when I do a full plugin scan in Cantabile, however I use the VST3 plugin that works fine. So something is definitely wonky with the VST2 object.

I only have the latest copy of the VST3 version as I am moving away from VST2 as much as I can, and it is working fine in the latest version of Cantabile.

Hmm - I’m still on v 3.0.15 (VST2) - am I missing anything dramatic by not upgrading to v 4.x?

So far running flawlessly on my live system, so reluctant to make a change given the “wonkiness” reported above…

Stick with the old version. The GUI on the new versions is horrible.

I’ve not noticed any difference at all. I’m not a heavy user though

I downloaded the latest version at the time earlier this year, and haven’t had any issues, apart from for the Soundiron Guitar Pack, which is all I use it for, takes ages to load. I tried to move to NI guitar libraries, but they don’t compare, so I put up with the load times to get the sounds!

I’ve spoken with UVI about this and they think it’s related to PACE support. They’re recommendation is to rollback to the previous version.

Alternatively, since it sounds like it’s working for some, perhaps the installed PACE version is making the difference. Maybe you can install new PACE drivers - not sure, but perhaps worth looking into.

Brad

I had actually updated the PACE software before installing UVI. I will stick with UVI 4.01 until they get this sorted out.
