Hello, I use CP for a very long time.
I’m produce my soundtracks mostly by live playing.
Here I use sets of several VST instruments to combine them and store them as song states.
Each song state has bindings/Routes also for which VST instrument is used on which of my keyboards (synthesizers and midi keyboards).
I also have in each song state per keyboard settings/Routes belongs to keyboard split and/or transport.
Works
If I would change this scenario in order to change Route settings belongs used keyboards and/or keyboard split per VST instrument/Rack in one Song State I have to create (by copy) a new Song State with different keyboard settings.
My aim is, to change this Route settings during live playing by using e.g. a knob on one of my midi keyboards.
Is there a way in CP to realize that; e.g. with bindings?
Or is the only way to use addtional song states for that?
Hi Bladerunner,
To do this you
- rename the routes you want to control with bindings by selecting the route and pressing the F2 function key. One renamed the routes will have the new combined name of the original port and the name you gave it. I used ONE, TWO and THREE for the example.
- next you create bindings for the routes that look like this below. Since you said knob was the controller of choice I am guessing that you are using each knob for control of 1 route. (because you could do more with a single knob but the bindings would be more complex. This example enables the route when at zero and toggles it when at full 127 value.
Notice also that each binding used should have it’s “Enabled” state behavior unchecked so it’s independent of state changes. Hope this helps.

Hi @dave_dore
Thanks a lot!
This is great!
My test with your “template” worked directly.
Your are right, with one knob it is difficult. With one knob I can toggle between e.g. two keyboards.
But in order to e.g. switch to use also two keyboards for one rack/plugin I have to use additional knobs to switch on/off.

Glad it worked. FWIW you can create multiple zones on a rotary knob that would allow a single knob to be able to do multiple route switches using value ranges. e.g.
