Support 8th notes for tap tempo

Hi @brad,

I find that I’m more comfortable/get better results doing tap tempo with 8ths rather than 4s. Right now I have to effectively let Cantabile pick up a double tempo, and set arps/delays at half the time I’d ideally want, and of course the tempo display maxes out (at 300bpm I think).

Can we have an option to allow 8ths for tap tempo?

Interesting idea. I’ve logged this for now.

One question - how would you expect this to work? A global option that makes it always use 8th notes, or a different tap tempo command for 8th vs quarter notes?

My assumption is a global option is sufficient, as it’s likely that your preference is independent of individual songs. However, I can see a different command being good for those wanting to experiment, and of course very explicit to avoid confusion. John

I’m changing my mind, I’ve just done a test and found that it is not effective (for me) doing 8ths for tempos above say 150bpm. Therefore I think a separate command, or per song option is the right way forward.
