Because now I’m not sure when I hit ctrl+S that the song is saved (missed some settings like this)
Not sure that would help. I’m guessing what’s happened is you were editing a rack, pressed Ctrl+S intending to save the song and the rack was saved but the song wasn’t. In this case a “Saved” message wouldn’t have helped because you’d still have seen it when the rack was saved.
Perhaps just use Save All instead - you can even bind a more convenient key to it in Options -> Hot Keys if you prefer.

Well, cantabile doesn’t give any saved info what so ever. Only the small dot on the title bar that it’s not saved.
