SSD drives thoughts on brands

Here’s a good instructional video I just watched, demystifying NVMe SSDs, and external enclosures for them. It covers PCI Express slot adapters too:

Thanks for the post  well explained video.

this shows how outdated I am :open_mouth: watching a six year old video explaining ssd drives
So after this 1tb for the boot drive and 2tb for the sample drive containing all the Kontakt/Spitfire samples.
over provision like was mentioned in the video, something I did on HDD, without realising it.

edit: because of typo sata/ssd

+1 for EVO. I currently have a 980 and 990 nvme and have used 860 for years.

Never owned one that didn’t fail within a year.

I got started with the 970 m.2 Nvme drives when I pulled one from a dead Lenovo Carbon X1 laptop and put it in the SSK enclosure. I was so pleased with the form factor and speed that when I bought a second SSK enclosure I went ahead and ordered a second 970. They are going for $43 on Amazon - how much less can a 1TB go for?

They generally go for about 50% more than that in Australia.
I watched enough videos and read enough websites to know what I want now,
thanks to everyone here
It’s been a big catch up session on PC tech.
