Spitfire Audio "Labs"

I’ve learned a lot from watching videos at Spitfire’s Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ7QbJQgJSSdd_v-VxdO6Gg

That prompted me to download their Spitfire Labs app and play around with the sounds:
https://www.spitfireaudio.com/labs. I like the Strings Ensemble. Not sure what I’ll use it for but…

If you play with it be sure to click on the center of the “thermostat” to get at the controls :grinning:

The LABS stuff looks fun. I downloaded it all and then found out it can only be authorized directly online- no way to do it offline. And my DAWS don’t connect. Sucks, but it is what it is,

As the name implies I’m sure they hope you’re using it just to experiment. The choir one is interesting.

Looks like this is an experiment in moving away from Kontakt as a host.

The problem with LABS Strings is, that if you hold the sustain pedal while playing the voices will stacked and stacked and stacked and after a few times, the CPU will overload and you’ll get huge audio dropouts. Other Sampler (like Kontakt) have great algorithms that prevent that. I was not able to find such a function in LABS. So I kicked it from my system.
