Recently I had some gigs where it jumped. Using FCB1010 and it does it on both my FCB units. My primary Next State button is natively sending PGM 127 (to BG rack) and that’s fine. But on a few other songs I also needed a different button to also send Next State (EWI on a stand on other side of FCB, easier to reach). That natively sends CC21, so I did a binding at Song level for CC21 Next State instant. Worked for a while but now problematic. Could be the button itself but it does it in both FCBs. I briefly tried different CC options like Button, No Edge etc but no change. I’m guessing that my foot press isn’t clean and it’s sending 2 commands on one press. Need to put it on Midi monitor to confirm.
I’m away from PC but in reading posts it seems like Delayed Retriggerable bindings might work? If not maybe latching? Or convert the CC to PGM right at the Cantabile input (which probably wouldn’t work).
Thanks!
Tom
I had a similar problem changing states with my foot pedal that has a contact bounce problem. The MIDI monitor verified multiple CC’s being sent from the foot pedal when it was released. The delayed retriggerable bindings patched this problem well.
The trick is to find a delay time that works for your state changes. If the delay time is too short, you may still experience retriggers. If the delay time is too long, you may not be able to step to the next state quickly. I set the re-trigger period to 1000ms. Works good for me.
Hope this helps,
Dave.
