Hi Steffen
This usually happens when using GUI, but not closing the GUI and saving it in a locked state( if that is the place ). Just make sure your state is unlocked and GUI is closed, save, then lock, and save again.
At least, that works for me. There could be updates to correct this, but I haven’t checked updates in awhile.
Hi Corky,
Thank you for your tips.
Unfortunately it doesn’t work. I’ve closed, saved, locked and saved again. When reloading the song the GUI still opens.
However, the GUI does not open when it was closed once:
All the songs are preloaded in a setlist. When i first load the setlist and go through the songs, the GUI (only for some VSTs) will open. When i close these GUIs once it will not open the next time i load the song.
So during soundcheck i quickly go through all the songs, close every GUI that pops up and everything is fine during the gig.
Thats my workaround for now.
@brad It would be nice to have the function to “prevent all GUIs from opening” during “Live Mode”.
A small feature request for an otherwise perfect software.
Hi @Steffen,
if the plugin is contained within a rack, then the issue could happen at the rack level.
I had a few racks opening the GUIs of some plugins because the rack state was set to do so.
Anyway, to avoid the inconvenience I have added a binding in my background rack so that at every song load all the (possibly open) GUI are closed, i.e. if they pop up, Cantable needs just one sec to close them again.
Gabriel
Edit: here is the binding I use in the background rack
Plugins should only open if you’ve saved them in the open state, and remember rack/song state can capture this info too, although this behaviour is off by default:
If this is still happening for unexplained reasons perhaps send me a copy of the song/rack and I’ll look into it - could be a bug.
Brad
Thank you guys. My equipment is in the bus and i’m on the train heading home.
I’ll test this on monday and will report how it went.
Best
Steffen
Problem solved!
I checked “Editor Visibility”, closed the GUI, saved - et voila!
Thank you for your help!
