Do you know why CC1 (Modulation) keeps sending data from all MIDI inputs, without any controller being moved, with values 10 and 11? Screenshot attached.

Is this straight from keyboard/controller? Modulation wheel might be failing or dirty.

@easteelreath thanks but it happens from two different keyboards, one of those is brand new. So I don’t think it depends on the modulation wheels.

This happens to me with old keyboards. It’s a classic mod wheel potentiometer problem.
Check if MIDI data is coming from outside the VST environment. For example, you could use a MIDI data viewer like Midiox.
However, it seems to me that it is a weird issue.

@cpaolo keyboards are both new, a Studiologic NumaNano and a IK Multimedia iKeys I/O 49. However, I’m pretty sure it does not depend on the keyboards’ mod wheels because on both MIDI inputs values wave between 10 and 11. Too strange that both keyboards have the same issue…
Could you post your settings.json file from the settings folder? It might need to be put in a zip file. There may be a clue in there. I also will flag @brad on this one as it is a strange issue for sure.

Are these USB or 5P DIN midi controllers? If they are dual USB/DIN outs, you could check both outputs. As @cpaolo suggested, can you intercept the midi signal before Cantabile? Have you tried another computer?

Found the issue: it’s an old CME Zkey that was plugged behind some other keyboards and I didn’t see that was still active in Cantabile’s MIDI ports. Years ago, its USB port was replaced because it was broken, and it’s the keyboard that is making the CC1 values wave between 10 and 11, or 11 and 12. It seems like the modulation wheel of this keyboard or the USB port are not reliable anymore. Sorry for opening this ticket, but thanks to your input I’ve been testing more and discovered where the issue was coming from.. Disconnecting the CME Zkey the Cantabile’s MIDI inputs don’t monitor any event coming in, as it was supposed to be.
