Routing question

Hi @Brad

As an old programmer my habit is to be explicit. For example, when I set a route to a plugin or rack, I automatically set channel 1 on the route to channel 1 on the plugin/rack. Clarity, efficiency, buffer overflow, ghost in the machine, etc.

In Cantabile I can have omni to omni, omni to channel, channel to omni, channel 1 to 123, etc.
All have some specific use case, but they will all work.

Question is do you have a recommendation for best practice in the Cantabile environment?

I use a ‘Device Hub’ (linked) Rack into which my hardware controllers go before emerging in filtered streams of notes, controllers, aftertouch, faders, buttons, knobs, pitchbend, etc. That way I only have one place to look for routings, and a clear way of knowing which messages are going to which Racks.

And take full advantage of colours and the notes/comments fields over on the right!

I don’t have a specific recommendation, just do what works best for you I guess.
