Rack State Behavior: Transpose

Can someone please explain to me how to effectively use the Transpose state behavior? I have a virtual guitar rack that I need to transpose for a particular song. I have tried changing the Transpose value in the MIDI route inside the rack, but even with the 2 boxes checked for the Transpose state behavior, loading a different song does not change the transpose setting.

Okay, so… correct me if I’m wrong. In order for a song to save the Transpose setting from a rack as part of its exported settings, the rack has to have at least one state; is that right?

I was able to save the Transpose value by creating a default rack state, and then saving the song without having to save the rack. Is this normal behavior?
