New product for vocal background noise reduction from Waves. I tried it out by recording voice with mic next to a whirring computer fan, very audible in the recording, turn the knob and its gone with no audible degradation of the voice or any artifacts. Even the breath is still there, it works very well.
Even though they make no claims about anything but voice, I’ll try it on acoustic guitar and post results later.
That could be really handy for improving recorded zoom calls - a business I work for had me clean up audio for one last summer. It was turned into a presentation.
Seemed like a good product, but had a problem getting it to work (the demo). Found out from Waves Tech support that if your computer has an AMD processor, Clarity will only work with an AMD Ryzen 9 serries (or better I would guess). They did not indicate any limitations on Intel processors.
That’s great! Youtube recently suggested I check out Reina del Cid’s Strange Magic. Wow, so clear. Then, the open-air video of Route 66 sounded just as clean … too clean. Wait a minute. Are they dubbing over their own recordings? If so, very clever. There was one song where the lead guitar intro seems to lag just a little, and just once.
