Problem with Transport Start/Stop ( S O L V E D )

(Built 3532) There is a problem when MidiTransport is controlled from external device.
everytime I change a SetListItem (Song) the transport in cantabile stops.

often when I play a medley i jump from one song directly to the next an my KeyboardArranger didn’t stop.

the displayed Timecode in cantabile is stopped also all plugins are stopped.

I think this is a bug and should not be.

or ist there anywhere an option I can change this behaviour ?

Hi @Juergen,

Thanks for reporting this. I’m actually not sure what the correct behaviour here should be. Different songs can have different time sync modes and the whole tranport system is basically reset on switching songs - it’s kinda by design.

Hi brad,

it would be nice you could change this handling.
Like the behavior on an arrangerkey (Tyros,Genos,PaX)… there you could change the songs and complete registration everytime when playing or switching a song.
I think there must be a way to handle Song switching in the same way then state switching only for transport functionality.
…if not?..maybe the programm can check if there was ( only in EXT. Sync Mode) a MidiStop Command when song unload and if not it will directly continue the Transport when load song???

also I tested other ways… but to stop the Keyboard Transport is not possible
when Keyboard-Clocksource is defined as Intern (MASTER)

to Start/Stop Transport in Cantabile with extern.Sync on… is also not possible

so I think there is no other way for me to solve this Problem…:thinking:

i only work in ‘NoAudioMode’ with cantabile but some Plugins like CC-Stepper are synced to the host to controll any DMX Light-Moves and Scenechanges at DMX

…also timing Tap’s to set the Movinglights into the right timing.

…so if there is no Tap the lights in Time running out of the beat…
So my only way at the moment ist to Stopp the Rhytm on the Arranger manualy on every Songchange and then to start again… Looks somewhat unprofessional… I hope you know what I mean.

…I thought a little while and then considered if there could be a way to run cantabile with 2 instances
where both of them are synced from external device.and I would outsource the CC-Stepper to the backgroundrack of my Cantabile Device 1 and route CC#s to Device2.

…so the stepper would not stop when i change a song in Setlist (MASTER)
in case of>external clock is not stopped

…works perfekt!

…with second Instance/Configuration of Cantabile Cantabile /config:CC_Stepper

Great Programm !!! …my only fear is if two linked Instances of this
fantastic software can developing artificial Intelligence …like in the movie Terminator
