Hi Cantabile enthusiasts,
I need an update for “Dummies”: what ist the fastest way to porting a C3-Setup to another PC or Laptop. Which folders and files do I have to copy? Please: step by step ![]()
Thanks in advance

Yes, that thread says it all. Pay special attention to Torsten’s March 7 post, he goes into detail on some important considerations. Even if you haven’t created folder structures as he and others like myself suggested, it’s wise to stop and do it now since it will save a tone of time going forward.
Be sure to save your presets in Cantabile rack states or song states, avoid using the plugins preset functions… as he said it’s a disaster to keep both synced. Don’t try to copy over json files or plugin’s internal settings. Install plugins fresh on each machine, don’t copy.
Last, create one “Master” folder for syncing and backing up… include all your Cantabile folders…Songs/Racks/Templates/Resource/Background Rack . Add folders for other stuff that needs syncing… IR’s, backing tracks, pdf’s for show notes, I even have a folder for any “Saved Plugin Settings” populated by Cantabile plugin exports. Granted, sometimes you need to transfer some other folders (i.e. ProgramFiles/Common Files/VST3), but it’s still more streamlined.
Of course simplifying the process also encourages more frequent backups, which in my book is always a good thing. Best of luck,
Tom
