Play a Note when a specific state is loaded

Hi.

How can I send a Note to the plugin when the State 1 is loaded?
and how can I send another Note to the plugin when the State 2 is loaded?

Background info:
Iam using a VST Instrument (Prominy V-Metal) and I want to automate the keyswitches so that I can change between Solo and Chordmode withe the “State” function of Cantabile.

I tried Source: Song States > On Load… Target… Midi in of VST Plugin Ch:1 Action: “Note”… then I enter the selected note. The problem… it seems that the note is always pressed/activated. When I press the “panic button” to cuto off all midi commands it stops. I tried to program a Note off directly after the note on Binding, but somehow it seems that all Bindinds selected with “Song State - OnLoad” just react on if ANY state is loaded?
I think I already did this before, but for the last hour I couldn’t figure out how to do it again :frowning:

Any Ideas?

Thanks!
Roelli.

Hey Fank,

Here’s a way to do it : see example below

That is such a handy idea - to make a drone chord come up as you change the state, for instance, without having to go play it (while busy playing another instrument, for instance)!

I can’t wait to try this out!

Cool!
Question: How did you added the delay of 500ms so that there is a note-off?
(I can’t click on “Event”)

Thanks!

Roelli.

I haven’t tried it yet, but it appears there are two columns beneath the “Event” heading - did you click in the column on the right side?

For sure! My favorite is the “MacGyver is Dead” patch from the “Spartan Tartan” collection by PlaidSoundWorks, or the “Big Hairy Whiskers” patch from the MacDrone VST.

(Please do not look these up, as I am only being very silly - while simultaneously soliciting work as a patch-namer from anyone who will have me.)
