Just in time for Xmas, looks incredible.
Looks good as an integrated sution, just the CPU seems a bit limited. N200 is more an entry-level processor, might run into trouble with more complex setups.
But the general idea and the form factor looks very nice - having a PC, an audio interface and a touch screen in one box is a good concept for live audio.
N200? More than an entry level processor, it is an ultra low power processor (TDP= 6W). I doubt this CPU will be enough for most Cantabile users. Maybe a small synth or guitar effect, not the songs many of us are used to.
It reminds me of another (old) hardware host, the Receptor and its poor dual-core Atom.
I wonder why it seems marketed only to the guitar players. It isn’t how I’d use it.
Probably the lack of processing power. But for guitar, it would probably be plenty for running Kilohearts SnapHeap and pretty much any scheme you can dream up for it. Which tbh is every bit as vast, if not more so, as what Edge did with that refrigerator sized rack he used to use. I’m doing this with an old HP laptop convertible that folds into a tablet form factor, and it probably has about the same computing power and works great for running SnapHeap. Its easy to ask why not more cpu in it since its only a couple of $ more, but the issue is how to cool it so it doesn’t throttle down in such a small form factor. At least this is my perception… All that said, its overpriced imo, though if I were playing out every night I would pay the price (provided it can run my SnapHeap setups I have on this convertable laptop) just for the tidyness and reliability of ditching a laptop/IO/foot controller for a single large stomp.
