Odd/weak MIDI behaviour

Hello,

Last night I went to a gig with my laptop, soundcard and Cantabile. There was a Yamaha Clavinova on the venue which I was intented to connect with my system.

I got a connection, but only a weak one. Only some of the midi messages came through as if there was a hell of traffic going on. Latency was also quite big. Tried with another midi cable, but no luck.

Have you experienced this kind of behaviour? What could cause the problem? I assume that the Yamaha was broken somehow.

Do other musicians use the MIDI ports on the Clav?
I would guess it’s a bad socket on it.

Did you try bringing up Cantabile’s MIDI Monitor to see what’s coming through the MIDI?
