I’m speechless…

Ugh. Seems like an untested scenario (again). There was a time when there was a lab at Microsoft with a large number of audio devices and updates would be tested in the lab (at least they the devices were plugged in and made sure that no errors were seen). This stopped a long time ago (let’s fire all the real people testing).

The fact that it’s more likely to happen with a USB 1.0 device probably means we are OK, but I’m not upgrading until I see more on this - or at least until a time when I can find a work around for the issue.

My last update completely failed. After I reloaded everything, the internal audio was a runaway on the CPU. I disabled it since I don’t use it anyway. My 2 DACs seem to be working fine. A look at the spec on the chips (TI and Cmedia) seems to show that they are USB 1.1 internally, even though the device says 2.0. I would guess that is the norm these days.
