Not a plugin, but a new exciting “low cost” Moog monophonic synth.
One thing I will say as we are obviously plug in enthusiasts, is I think you will find this will not give you more than the very good emulations out there.
The heart ruled the mind before Christmas, and for a major milestone birthday I gorged on a Moog Muse and an Arturia Polybrute 12 (for studio only dabbling on “real analogs”, and you can’t take it with you, you know ….). On and off since then I have been diving into recreating classic Moog leads from Pink Floyd and Rush songs. Whilst it is lovely having a real Moog in front of me (and all those knobs to tweak) everything else including the Arturia Mini V4 are more than holding their own. But it is gorgeous (both in looks, sonics and ease of programming).
I see your point. In any case, this is not a Minimoog; it’s a brand new instrument with a different filter and a large modulation matrix.
Dabbing real analog is always a pleasure.
That’s why I’m going to buy this little beauty for less than $900. I’m aware that’s not a Muse nor a big modular, but I’m kinda in love with him.
I was not really being specific to a particular Moog, but just pointing out how well the Plugins can give you that Moog Character for a lot less money - but it is so nice having real Moog Hardware in front of me as well!
But if this new one is only $900, well that is indeed a bargain.
Lets know what you think of it once you have
Thomann is selling it for €850 / £725.
The actual release date is uncertain though. I’d say mid June.
