Probably I’m a bit late in the discussion.
Are there any news for a native linux version of cantabile?
For now I still have my three windows machines (live, backup, in preparation) that all work fine and are not connected to the Internet most the time.
In the future I better won’t rely on Windows.

Nothing imminent. I believe it runs under Wine, but have not tested it myself, and it’s not officially supported.
