Hi community,
im triggering the play button of a cantabile media player with the exp-pedal-input of my Roland RD800 connected via usb midi to my pc. Works great.
I would like to have a multiple pedal input interface in order to plug in 4+ piano pedals which can trigger the media player from different positions on stage. Or execute other tasks in cantabile.
In my opinion, the Strymon Conduit MIDI Hub may be suitable for this task. But the OEM hasn´t replied to my mail yet, if the device convert pedal data into midi information.
Maybe someone has another solution for this?
Thomas
Thank you for your answer.
The Strymon support has replied:
“Hello,Thanks for supporting Strymon!
No, Conduit is not designed to work with piano pedals like the Roland DP-10. It also cannot translate piano pedal data into MIDI messages.”
The doremidi device looks very promising! But not widely available in my area.
Fortunately, I have found a solution myself too:
Very expensive though… but no external power supply needed, and rack mountable. Even up to 8 pedals possible
If you want to get more sophisticated, maybe with future requirements in mind, then the Morningstar devices are worth a look. I use an MC8, which has 8 switches of its own, and also has 4 ‘omniports’ to which you can connect switch or expression pedals, or use as MIDI ports.
