Subject: MIDI Input Configuration for Roland A-33 in Cantabile

Issue Description:

The Roland A-33 Mother Keyboard is configured to send MIDI signals through MIDI OUT 1 and MIDI OUT 2 simultaneously. However, when using Cantabile, the program only receives MIDI data from MIDI IN 1, while MIDI IN 2 remains inactive.

Requested Action:

Please advise on how to configure Cantabile to receive MIDI data from both MIDI IN ports simultaneously, ensuring that all MIDI signals sent from the Roland A-33 through both ports are recognized by the software.

Possible Solutions to Consider:

  1. MIDI Port Configuration:

    • Verify if Cantabile supports multiple MIDI input ports and check how to enable both MIDI IN 1 and MIDI IN 2 under Tools > Options > MIDI Ports.
  2. MIDI Routing:

    • Check if a MIDI Route needs to be created for each port, ensuring that both are linked to the desired instrument or rack in Cantabile.
  3. Global MIDI Input Assignment:

    • Confirm if both ports need to be selected simultaneously as MIDI inputs for the same instrument.
  4. Monitoring and Diagnostics:

    • Use Cantabile’s MIDI Monitor feature to check if any MIDI signal is detected from MIDI IN 2, ruling out hardware issues.

Next Steps:

Your guidance on enabling both MIDI IN ports simultaneously in Cantabile would be highly appreciated. This will help ensure full compatibility with the Roland A-33 and enhance our performance setup.

Thank you very much for your assistance.
