If I synch a midi file with the master transport (metronome) and set the media player as slave (musical), the tempo of the midi file syncs to the metronome as it should. BUT, the file no longer loops and it ignores any play ranges I’ve selected. Why?
It’s kinda by design - you’ve synced to the master transport so the play position follows it and overrides loops and play ranges. I think there’s a task logged somewhere to revisit this, but hasn’t risen to the top of the pile yet.

This is just a thought. Would it be a usable workaround if you set up another mediaplayer with an empty mp3 file, set its tempo to whatever tempo you need, and then use that mediaplayer as master and assign loops and play ranges to it?
