Hello.
Is posible to use the metronome without de measure sound? Sometimes we only need the tempo beats.
Thanks.
Hi,
Yep, by using custom metronome sounds. In Options → General look for this section and set them both to the same sound file.
For convenience, here are the default Cantabile metronome sounds:
CantabileMetronomeSounds.zip (49.5 KB)
Classic Measure Sound = “Ding.wav”
Classic Beat Sounds = “Tick.wav”
Modern Measure Sound = “PingHi.wav”
Modern Beat Sound = “PingLo.wav”

Hi Oriol,
This will work
Go to options > General
Switch mode to Custom
Choose your own metronome sound and load into both slots
hope this helps …
regards
edit: I saw where Brad posted on this before me so just go with what he said.
Thanks for the reply.
I have tried this, but with this solution, I can’t quickly switch between metronome with beat measure and without beat measure.
It would be great that in metronome controls, inside the menu measure, there were the possibilty to select a kind of 0/1 measure.
Hi @oriol
Interesting idea however many plugins will explode if they don’t receive a valid time signature from the host. So I think it still makes sense to be able to select a time signature - even if the sounds for measures are being suppressed.
I’m trying to refrain from adding options/settings for every possible thing in this version so let me think about this for a bit. Implementation is trivial, but keeping the app’s UI sane is important.

Would it be helpful / possible for typical plugins to be able to choose time signature like a “1/1”? This way the sound should always be the same, right?
EDIT: Consistently I should call it “1/4”, I guess…
I’m not sure how most plugins would respond to unusual time signatures like that. Sounds risky given what I’ve seen some plugins do.
And simply muting the measure sound?
OK, I’ve added this for the next build (3120), but the UI is not obvious because I don’t think this is an often used feature.
Right click on the sounds button and there’s a menu option to enable/disable the measure sounds:
The setting is saved globally.

great!
i just was about to ask for that feature…
