Media file selection causing crash

I’m hitting a nasty bug. I’m getting the same issue in both 3539 and 3540…

I am creating a Song-level binding to a Media Player to select a file by index. I’m using MIDI CC#111 sent from a drum pad. I’ve set the binding to be a ‘button’ and I’m sending the file index number-1 as the value of the controller. The files are 24-bit, 44.1kHz WAVs.

So drum pad 1 will send CC#111 Value 00; pad 2 will send CC#111 Value 01, etc.

I may get the Media Player to accept one new selection (I can see it working temporarily), but when I try to send a second or third selection Cantabile freezes, crashes and shuts down with a message to Microsoft. This happens consistently.

Win10 x64.

Hi @The_Elf

Quickest way to get to the bottom of this would be to see a crash report, but it sounds like Cantabile’s crash reporter isn’t working in this case - in which case you’ll need to use this.

Also, if you could put together a simple example song that demonstrates the problem it might help.

The one thing I didn’t try when I was hitting this problem last night was simply re-booting the laptop… now I have and the problem has gone away. I don’t seem to be able to recreate it either.

Sorry!
