Live performance with audio stream and effects

Forgive my ignorance, I’m a newbie here. I’m looking for a SW that can do a real-time live-mode effect processing on the audio stream from a microphone. I simply want to play acoustic instruments live and apply a SW reverb while I’m playing (not post-recording-processing like in other DAW). Can I do that in Cantabile?

Nothing built in - you need to bring your own effects as VST plugins. Cantabile simply provides the “plumbing” to run them live.

As for reverbs, there are a couple of good ones, free and commercial

  • if you don’t want to spend any money, google for “smartelectronix ambience”, “epic verb variety of sound” or “oldskoolverb voxengo”
  • for a very reasonable amount of money ($50), you can get Valhalla Vintageverb ( www.valhalladsp.com) - great universal reverb
  • ready to spend even more money? Look at https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/bx_rooms.html - currently on sale for half the normal price (=$100) …

Hey Eno,

Like Torsten says, C3 provides routing and control. You choose your reverb plugin.
