Hello,
My MIDI controller has two expression pedals assigned to global CC messages (I assigned them to 50 & 51). I am struggling to figure out how I could have a program change or CC message from my MIDI controller change which plugin parameters the expression pedal CC messages change.
In the Background Rack I have binding, source CC 50, target plugin by index, target point parameter by index 3. What I would like to figure out is how I can have a PC change the targets parameter index to say 4 or 5. So that the source is the same but now a PC message has changed the target.
Thank you,
Hi Allen,
One idea would be to have another state in your background rack where you had some different bindings for your pedals enabled and the original bindings you didn’t want disabled. You could change the background rack state from your song bindings.

thank you, I also discovered modifiers. So I could have 4 modifiers & unmodified for a total of 10 parameters. Then have the modifier changing PC also change the state. I don’t know how slow changing states is yet but seems like if I have say max 50 parameters (25 PC), that would only be 5 state changes total.
Do you know or anyone know how this could be accomplished with scripting?
It seems scripting could make this a little more practical?
I am trying this now and I am having difficulty having multiple background rack states with different bindings? All states have the same bindings?
It sounds like you don’t have the state behaviors “Enabled” box checked for your bindings in the BG rack. Without this there is no state control of the binding. The default for new bindings is unchecked. You want to check all the relevant bindings and then cycle the states to make sure they are switching properly.

Ahh now I understand. So I can’t delete bindings across states but I can enable/disable them. This should work greatly. Thank you!
