How to build a complex recording without any DAW?

Hi folks

In the past I created songs thinking to add my voice later

Now that I decided to rid my workflow of any DAWs, can I still add my voice?

I think I can do it easily putting an MP3 or WAV in the Media player, then recording its output together with my mic, but I have a further issue

I want to complete a song where I have critter’s noise & voice parts inserted in certain points of the the song: is it possible in Cantabile?

If not, or if the flow becomes too much tough, I’ll keep the simpler of my 2 DAWs

Yes, but you need to understand how to use timeline position bindings and also you would need another media player to play back the critter sounds.
