After 5 years fighting with DAW crashes and flaws, I realized I don’t need a DAW at all 
and now I am a happy Cantabile user
I play for fun, I often jam without recording, I am more a mousier than a composer, and the few songs I record should be liked by me, my wife, and a few friends (mostly in the Scaler forum)
About Scaler, I am a fan of Scaler for 2 reasons: I don’t know the music theory, and I am just good at playing the ring door
