Globally map media player midi control bindings?

I’m using Cantab3, and could use some advice on setting up the media player in various song files. I have roughly 100 songs files for the songs we play in my covers band. In each one, for practice, I’d like to have a media player setup to help me practice – it should respond to the same midi cc trigger to start and stop playing, and adjust volume, so no matter which song I’m currently playing, hitting a particular drum pad causes the associated mp3 to play, for instance. In Cantab2 I had to midi learn those cc triggers separately for each song file. In Cantab3 is there a smarter way to do this, so I only have to map the midi signals to control the media once, but have every song file load a different mp3 to practice?

Hi Jim,

Try creating the bindings you want in what is called the “Background Rack” View>Background Rack .
This will allow the bindings to translate across all songs and states. Hope this helps. P.S The Background Rack was also called the Global rack before. Hope this helps …
