Running a Focusrite 2i4 (recent) to an EX05 I’m using as my master keyboard. Works fine EX->Focusrite.
However when I connect MIDI Focusrite->EX I get a persistent “MIDI Error” on the synth. No further elaboration as to the nature of the error. This is true on both the A and B interfaces.
For sanity check, I tried the MIDI connections to the newer Yamaha S70XS in case there was some quirk with Yamaha’s implementation or some with Focusrite’s that prevented them from playing nice together. Works a treat.
Any setting on the EX05 (or the Focusrite) that I should look for? I thought maybe the PC was transmitting extra clocks or something, but I didn’t spot anything in the MIDI logs, and the EX05’s menus are tricky enough that I’m suspecting it’s on that end, but I’ve never had to fuss very much to get vanilla MIDI working so it’s hard to say.
