Enable/Disable MIDI Route in Linked Rack

This is probably easy, but I’m having a brain f*rt and could use some help. From a song, how can I enable or disable a MIDI route located within a linked rack?

Hi Bruce,

To enable / disable an internal rack route from a song set up a binding at song level that sends a CC switch to the rack with the route you want to control.

e.g.

inside the rack rename the input or output route(s) you want to control and create a binding to accept the CC switch from song level and let it control the route enable / disable for your desired target route

e.g

Hope this helps,

Dave

That should work, @dave_dore. Thank you very much, sir!

I don’t really need to dynamically enable or disable the MIDI route during the song, however. I just need to set the route as either enabled or disabled when the song is loaded and maintain that state throughout the song. How would that change the example you provided?

On the song binding you make the switch an Song “On Load” type.

And on the rack binding that enables or disables the route you use either Turn On or Turn Off instead of the toggle. That way you can choose to turn the route on or off depending on the need.
