I’ve not considered this until now, but would Cantabile benefit from a mixer page?
I’m thinking of something similar to Cubase’s mixer, where channels are automatically created as racks are added. Each channel would have the rack’s basic level control (as a fader), wet/dry, pan, etc controls above, plus level meter. Also an output channel over on the right.
If this mixer (and Cantabile’s transport controls) were also MCU compatible that would be a huge advantage as it would open up Cantabile to many control surfaces.
It’s not something I’ve missed until now, but considering updating my mixer rack got me thinking…
I’m a heavy user of your mixer rack, and I’m currently working through best way to manage this on-screen (tablet or touchscreen - various software options, or even x touch) but an integrated mixer would be great (and there is at least one entry in the backlog for it). Wouldn’t be that hard to develop [said John], but questions to be answered about inserts and send (vs. current model) and managing outputs (e.g. I have a master rack, and others.
I would like to see something like that. I have given some thought to building something. A rack or something in PlugnScript. But it would mean going back through every song, adding the mixer and rerouting everything.
The basics are already there on the routing page, but not in a convenient format. Sliders are spread out all over the screen. Some off the screen for a complex song. And sliders too small for a quick tweak with the touchscreen. A way to make subgroups would also be cool. Bring up an entire horn section rather than each horn individually, for example.
