Quick heads-up: ZL Audio have recently released a new version of their ZL Equalizer - an EQ plugin very much “inspired” by FabFilter Pro-Q. I’ve checked the CPU load in Cantabile’s Profiler, and the plugin seems to be pretty CPU-efficient. So far, Pro-Q has beaten all free EQ plugins performance-wise, but this one seems pretty close.
So if you need an EQ you can slap into your racks as a standard output shaper (I have 33 instances of Pro-Q in my preloaded setlist) and you don’t want to spend the cash on FabFilter, this could come in handy…
Yes, this is a good one. I played with it in Plugin Doctor and Bertom Curve Analyzer for a good while and its great. The low cpu seems to be partly related to the lack of i/o metering based on comparing it to other products that can disable their meters. Regardless, I own Kirchoff, and can say if you don’t already have something along those lines, you won’t be missing much of anything worth missing by getting this instead for free.
