Is there a way to change to a new Song, without immediately cutting off sound from the previous song?
I guess I’m looking for an option/feature where
- the previous song will remain loaded until all sound from VSTs and media players has completed
- any new MIDI in events is directed to the new song
FYI, the Nord keyboards do this by default: i.e. changing patches doesn’t cut off the tail of already-played notes / FX from the previously-selected patch, but any new notes a directed to the new patch’s instruments.
Hi Pete,
This not do-able between songs. The workaround has been to use a single Cantabile song and it’s song states for each change over (new song you want to play). So to do this you have to plan it from the start. There are other posts from the past that have more explanation that you can see with a search of the Forum entries.

Thanks Dave, I guessed this might not be doable without significant work-arounds.
It’d be great to have this as first-class option in Cantabile. I think we pre-load already being a feature, then it feels like a doable add-on to what’s already place. Perhaps another option on the set-list, alongside pre-load?
How can I request this, formally?
Hi Pete,
Just make one more post here with the request and attach @brad to it somewhere in the text. It will flag the topic for him and he will get to it next visit he makes to the forum.
