Cantabile is muting the input (guitar via scarlett) whe a tone rings out at a certain treshold. as soon the inputsignal is on a low level the signal is muted. On the level meter I can see there is still a signal comming in though. I attached a vu-plugin to the input and i can see the inputlevel disappears when the signal gets low. Dont have the issue in other software so the issue is dedicated to cantabile. Someone recognizes this or have an idea wat is going on?
Hi Fred and Welcome to the forum! ![]()
There is a built in limiter that may be causing it but it is on the output stage. The switch to disable it is in Tools>Options>Audio Engine. If you disable it you need to watch your gain staging to prevent digital clipping.

Hi Dove thanks for your reply but thats not what is going on. this setting (output limiter) is disabled in my settings but my issue is at the input. In my situation the input is completely muted when the input level gets below a certain value. there is still a reasonable signal which needs to be routed though.
OK Fred, I’ll flag this one for the developer @brad as he is more able to address it than me.

@brad I just discovered the issue is not occuring when I do a recording. There the tones ring out as excpected!
Look slike the problem is not there anymore. I removed everything around cantabile (software, songs, racks, etc) and then reinstalled, recreated song/racks and now the problem seems to be gone. Must have been someting in the init song but once it was there I couldn’t get away from the issue.
Too bad I don’t know what the ultimate cause was but glad I can use cantable normally again now ..!
