Buffer sizes not power of 2

Since some Cantabile releases ago, the available buffer sizes are not power of 2, unlike what is recommended by a VST instrument that I use. The list of buffer sizes in Cantabile is always 8 numbers less than the next highest power of 2, ie 8, 24, 40, 56, 72, 88, 104, 120, 136, 152, 168, 184. , 200, 216, 232, 248, 264, and so on. Trying to change buffer size through audio driver control panel does not work. Cantabile simply ignores what is changed there. Is there any way to correct this behavior? The audio device is a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB.

Update. I’ve not checked this myself, but apparently this beta driver resolves this issues with incorrect buffer sizes reported by the Focusrite driver: http://beta.focusrite.com/
