So I often claimed that I’m avoiding sampled instruments may be here is an exception.
Currently you can get the “All Pianos” bundle at a very affordable prize. The sample library is > 30 GB but there are also Lite versions of these pianos with about 50 MB per piano.
I think low cost/free libraries can’t be compared to professional products like Pianoteq or a two-digit GB sampled piano (say Synthogy, Production Voices, VSL etc.)
@dsteinschneider…my parents also had a Knabe baby grand. It sat in my great-grandmother’s house for years as merely a corner decoration. When she died, she left it to my Mom. She was the only one who could play. I can still remember the day they brought it in…the men cursing at the amount of steps. 25 years later, it went on a 200 mile journey north when my parents sold their house. The only way in (for a piano) was around the side of the house. I remember them using pieces of plywood to roll the piano (on dolly’s of course). It was a long uphill slope. They would grab the back piece of plywood and run it up front, rinse and repeat. It needed only a slight tuning after the move. It had such a beautiful sound. I can still hear her playing one of her favorite pieces J.Strauss II - Frühlingsstimmen (Voices of Spring). She played it from memory
You are right.
Currently I build up a 3d live machine to replace one of the older ones and my Pianoteq activations are all in use.
I thought I could use the boz until I’m ready to switch. May be the Sampleson piano is worth consodering too.
My sister who played it most (classical piano lessons for years) moved it to her house. She then moved several more times and somewhere along the way must have sold it. I looked on Piano Mart and saw one just like it for sale in our state for $1500 - probably the same piano.
