Well, most musicians could say ASIO, but in my system is actually WASAPI
Why?
I don’t know, but I am happy I have also Cantabile
Well, after half hour jamming crazily, Cantabile crashed, but using the set below!
Impossible to get closer with Ableton Live (Wasapi not allowed), or with Cantabile + ASIO (Komplete Audio 1)
BTW: with WASAPI + Cantabile the CPU use decreased enormously compared to Ableton Live 11 + ASIO and with a simpler set than the one above, and I was able to use a buffer as little as 512!
Unbelievable to me, accustomed to use 2048, and having Ableton Live 11 crashing every day
BTW, the Cantabile crash file wasn’t created, so I have no clues: the RAM and CPU were low, so what can have gone adrift?
Well, I found that my antivirus check were scheduled in the same hours I usually play, and during those checks there were CPU spikes, the drive was very busy, and there was a lot of network traffic
I changed the time, all issues are gone, and I had zero crashes…
But crashes came back until yesterday when…
I found that the culprit was actually my audio card, so I removed it, I uninstalled its drivers, and using Bitwig + WASAPI (Ableton Live doesn’t allow it) I have no more crashes, both closing a project or swapping an instrument, or doing anything else, included the craziest routings
BINGO!
