For anyone interested, attached is a VST3 I made with JUCE that is designed to sit in front of an amp sim in order to trim input volume, high pass Hz and low pass Hz.
I find it useful to have a single way to to these things all in one place regardless of sim. Of course ymmv, but here it is if you want to give it a whirl:
