This is how I did it, Hamlen.
Thanks for sharing this.
I don’t know, what really happens in my case wrong.
But In my case this didn’t work like the provided Spectrasonics information.
Perhaps the mistake/error was, not to install also the VST2 plugin version of v3.
I did that (as said before) only afterwards.
Just a quick follow-up to this thread: I upgraded to Omnisphere 3 yesterday and so far no issues. All my Cantabile songs still load with no modifications required. O2 instances have turned into O3 instances with the same multi and patch data in them (even when the data comes from Cantabile’s saved state for the plugin, not from a file). Also, all my third-party and user-created multis, patches, and sound sources are preserved and still loadable.
During O3 installation I told it to install everything (VST3, VST2, and AAX plugins) to the same locations as O2. I backed up my STEAM folder ahead of time, but so far haven’t needed to resort to it.
If I encounter any issues, I’ll post them here.
That is good to hear. I have brought the V3 upgrade, but will not be upgrading for a few more weeks until my final gig of the year is out of the way. I have rather a long list of updates…
break a leg!!
Prepping whilst struggling with the flu is bad enough….
Still good progress tonight - the video show is all working again (some software upgrades had broken it!) And I also get NDI video streaming over the network working onto my main monitor, so I do not have to keep craning around to see the video laptop screen!
Also looking forward to trying out the Cantabile UI changes!
