I didn’t notice difference either setting a pagefile or not, wen RAM is => 16GB. I set no pagefile in my PCs (studio/gigs), but I installed 64GB.
When I buy one of those damn PCs with soldered chips, it will be very expensive.
No, not experiencing crashing. I have a fresh install of Win10 Pro on a ThinkPad T460s with 12GB of RAM.
At this stage I’m still setting up and wanting to turn off memory dump and crash dump files.
Glad to hear no crashing. I get not wanting to sit through the memory dump in the event it did happen, especially if performing.
FWIW I also had disabled page file when recently trying to solve an unknown issue. Found the route of the problem but every once in a while C3 would then “pause”, no audio engine, windows hourglass, for about 10 secs. I finally remembered and let windows manage page file size… problem gone. I agree that today’s 16-32+gb ram makes the old concept of fixed or disabled page file a non-issue.
